Scorpions FC To Announce Plans for 2012 North American Soccer League Season

WHO: Gordon Hartman, founder of Soccer for a Cause, and other San Antonio Scorpions FC officials.

WHAT: Announcement of Scorpions’ plans for North American Soccer League (NASL) competition including playing facility, new team president, new team sponsors, 2012 ticket prices and “Select Our Jersey Design” contest for Scorpions fans.

WHEN: 1 p.m. CDT Tuesday, April 26, 2011.

WHERE: Morgan’s Wonderland Event Center, 5223 David Edwards Drive (site of the former Longhorn Quarry at the intersection of Wurzbach Parkway and Thousand Oaks Drive just off IH 35 in Northeast San Antonio).

WHY: To provide an overview of next steps leading up to NASL action next spring.

ETC.: Soccer for a Cause is bringing pro soccer to San Antonio to further boost the sport’s growing popularity and to expand educational programs and services at non-profit Morgan’s Wonderland, the world’s first ultra-accessible family fun park designed with special-needs individuals of all ages in mind. Scorpions profits will benefit Morgan’s Wonderland.
Completely wheelchair-accessible, Morgan’s Wonderland features more than 25 elements and attractions including rides, playgrounds, gardens, an eight-acre fishing lake, 18,000-square-foot-event center, 575-seat amphitheater, picnic area and rest areas.
